Lexicon Welcomes Kassi Bissell as Vice President of Human Resources

Seasoned HR leader joins team as part of planned succession for longtime VP Danna Gauntt

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Sept. 17, 2025) – Lexicon, Inc. has announced the hiring of Kassi Bissell as the company’s new vice president of human resources. Bissell brings more than two decades of experience in human resources leadership across manufacturing, construction and global corporate settings. She succeeds Danna Gauntt, who is retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service to the company.

“As part of our succession planning, it was critical to prepare for current vice president of HR Danna Gauntt’s upcoming retirement,” said Lexicon CEO Patrick Schueck. “Danna has been an invaluable member of the Lexicon family for more than 30 years and provides a wealth of background and information regarding our human resources operations. Having Danna and Kassi overlap under Chief Human Resources Officer Janell Schmidt’s leadership will allow Danna to fully transfer her knowledge and make this transition as smooth as possible for our entire team.”

Most recently, Bissell served as regional HR director for American Trailer World (ATW), where she oversaw HR operations across Texas, Oklahoma and Mexico. She previously held leadership positions at Hydro Aluminum Metals North America, L-3 Technologies, Newell Rubbermaid and Kelly Services, building a reputation for aligning human resources strategy with business performance in large-scale industrial and service-based environments.

Bissell holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Technology and a Master of Science in Management from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She also completed an executive residency in career coaching at her alma mater.

Since beginning her tenure at Lexicon earlier this year, Bissell has spent time connecting with employees across divisions and becoming immersed in the company’s operations and culture. She works closely with both Gauntt and Schmidt to ensure continuity and a strong handoff of responsibilities.
