and emerging technology

Lexicon, Inc. has named longtime construction technology executive Jerry Horani vice president of information technology, data analytics and AI, strengthening the company’s focus on technology and innovation as it continues to grow.

In his new role, Horani will lead Lexicon’s enterprise technology strategy, including IT infrastructure; data and analytics; cybersecurity; and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. He will work across Lexicon’s family of companies to improve operations through technology, connect teams and give employees stronger tools to do their jobs.

“Technology is changing the way we build, and Jerry brings strength and knowledge to all aspects of the process. He understands hands-on construction, and he understands how to use technology to make the process better, safer and more efficient,” said Patrick Schueck, CEO of Lexicon. “As Lexicon continues to grow, we want to give our people the best tools and information possible. Jerry brings the experience and practical mindset to help us do that, and we’re excited to have him on our team.”

Horani joins Lexicon after more than 20 years with VCC Construction Group, where he most recently served as chief technology officer and chief information officer. During his tenure, he led enterprise technology strategy across nine locations and multi-state construction operations, directed the company’s transition from legacy infrastructure to cloud-based systems and built a centralized data and analytics platform providing real-time operational and financial insights.

He also led technology integration for acquisitions, implemented major construction technology platforms and advised executive leadership on AI, data strategy and emerging technologies. Horani began his career at VCC as a systems engineer and advanced through roles in software development, technology architecture and IT leadership before becoming CTO/CIO.

“Lexicon has a strong reputation for innovation, but what stood out to me is that technology here is ultimately about supporting people and helping them do their jobs better,” said Horani. “There is a tremendous opportunity to build on what Lexicon is already doing with data, technology and automation, and I’m excited to help create systems that make information more accessible, improve decision-making and support the company’s continued growth.”

Horani earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science and systems engineering with an emphasis in information security from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is also a co-founder and investor in BuildTechnology, a construction technology investment platform focused on emerging technologies and early-stage startups. He serves as a board member and chair of the UA Little Rock Leadership Council and ConTech Innovate and has participated as a speaker and panelist for BuiltWorlds.
