Nucor-Yamato Mill Motor Removal

Lexicon Industrial Maintenance supported a major outage at Nucor-Yamato Steel by removing and placing two large mill motors, rated at 8,000 HP and 7,500 HP, into storage. The work required the use of overhead cranes and 400-ton hydraulic jacks to safely handle the motors. LIM maintains a year-round workforce of approximately 75–80 personnel at the facility with 24/7 coverage, scaling to as many as 700 personnel during major outages.
