Heritage Links transformed the iconic Trump National Doral Blue Monster Course, known around the world for its challenging layout and long history of professional tournaments, including the PGA Tour. With a construction window of six months, we built bunkers, tees, and greens; installed an irrigation system; expanded and improved practice facilities; and added new water hazards—with time to spare for grow-in and maturation before that year’s World Golf Championships – Cadillac Championship.

Prospect Steel oversaw a 26,000-ton project for a 1.8-million-square-foot greenfield steel mill in Bay City, Texas.

The 1.8 million square foot greenfield steel mill incorporates a high level of automation and cutting edge technologies into its production of seamless pipe. The facility is also the company’s most environmentally efficient mill, seeking LEED certification. Prospect fabricated/erected 26,000 tons. Scope included roof and wall skin, as well as installation of a crane rail system throughout.

In 2018, Heritage Links was tasked with executing Gil Hanse’s vision for the restoration of the historic Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This work included extensive tree clearing, expansion of fairways, enhancement of creeks and waterways, the complete re-building of all greens, bunkers and tees, a new irrigation system, improved practice areas, and state-of-the-art hydronics heating/cooling systems under the green surfaces to regulate soil temperatures. Through this process, this championship course was diligently restored to its previous Golden Age grandeur, while at the same time adapting the layout to contemporary expectations for playability and agronomics.

At the peak of construction in 2019, we had more than 130 workers erecting 15,855 pieces of steel members using multiple cranes including two 275-ton crawler cranes, four 100-ton rough terrain cranes, several telehandlers, forklifts, and man lifts. This project included 11 large pressure vessels for the new Nucor Louisiana DRI plant in Convent, Louisiana. Some of the larger vessels ranged in size up to 26’-2” diameter x 107’ long and weighed up to 185 tons. All of the vessels were shipped to the jobsite via barge from our barge facility in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The new Mossy Oak Golf Course opened one year later, directly across the road from Old Waverly. Designed by Gil Hanse, Heritage Links completed all scopes of work necessary to transform the rolling property into one of America’s top 100 modern golf courses. In 2017, Heritage Links was awarded with a Development of the Year award from Golf, Inc. magazine for its work at Mossy Oak.

It was a two-year long project covering the fabrication and installation of the HVAC ducts on the new Little Rock South West High School. Situated near the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, Liberty National Golf Club is one of the country’s quintessential tournament courses, hosting the PGA Tour Barclays Championship, Northern Trust Championship, 2017 Presidents Cup and more. Lexicon Energy Services completed its largest manifold to date for Moda Ingleside Energy Center’s crude oil storage and export terminal. Our scope of work included excavating and pouring the concrete manifold vault; installing 10 pumps; fabricating and installing manifold piping and the majority of the interconnecting piping between the tanks and manifold; installing the access platforms in the manifold; and performing complete civil work on 15 crude oil storage tanks. This manifold was responsible for exporting 25% of all crude in the US for 2020.

When the original Renegade Course at Desert Mountain, designed by Jack Nicklaus, opened in 1987 it was immediately regarded as a cornerstone in modern golf design, with its unique double greens on each hole and expansive layout. Thirty-one years later, Nicklaus returned to his famed course to completely re-imagine this seminal design. There was no contractor that Nicklaus trusted more than Heritage Links to complete the overhaul. Throughout 2018, Heritage Links worked tirelessly to implement Nicklaus’s new vision, completely re-grading the sight and constructing new features, a new irrigation system, new cart paths and new grassing from wall to wall.

Spearheaded by Jack Nicklaus, The Renegade Course at Desert Mountain opened in 1987 to immediate acclaim for its expansive layout and unique greens. More than three decades later, Nicklaus turned to Heritage Links to help reimagine and revamp his initial design. During the year-long process, Heritage Links regraded the site and installed new features, cart paths, grass and a state-of-the-art irrigation system.

It is considered one of the nation’s best municipal golf courses and top city-owned public golf courses. This project involved fabrication of large steam ductwork for a power plant in Chehalis, Washington. All ductwork was trial-fitted in shop and successfully delivered to the site in Washington state in large components to meet a demanding schedule.

Laminar Tank for Big River Steel in Osceola, Arkansas. The laminar tank dimensions were 14’-2” Ht. x 15’-9” W x 145’-0” Lg. Shipping weight was 240,460 lbs. This was one of the largest fabricated components we have attempted to transport via truck. Thankfully, the planning and logistics went well and the laminar tank arrived safely and on time to Big River Steel.

LIC built the world’s First Flex Mill® in Northeast Arkansas in phases, starting in 2014. When the 22,000-capacity BBVA Compass Stadium decided to resurface its playing field in downtown Houston, it turned to trusted builder Heritage Links. This project was an SCR Construction that was fabricated for Babcock Power and American Electric Power in Rockport, Indiana. Total material fabricated was approximately 2,563 tons of carbon steel fabricated from July 2018 – December 2019. All components were trial-fitted in our shop prior to shipping to ensure there were no issues with field erection.

Custom metals fabricated large steam ductwork for delivery to Apex Generating Station in Las Vegas, Nevada. The project included multiple sections of duct, trial-fitting and a very demanding schedule. In the end, all items were delivered on schedule and the installation went perfectly.
