Lexicon, Inc. hires Catherine Brumbaugh as director of training & development

Veteran learning and development leader to advance Lexicon University and workforce excellence

 

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Nov. 20, 2025) – Lexicon, Inc. has hired Catherine Brumbaugh as director of training and development, strengthening the company’s focus on building skilled leaders and advancing training across its family of companies. Brumbaugh brings more than 20 years of experience in talent management, leadership development and employee engagement.

Before joining Lexicon, Brumbaugh served as director of organizational development at ONEOK in Tulsa. Her prior leadership roles include positions with Post Holdings, PetWell Partners, BP, Peabody Energy and Shell Global Solutions. 

“Our people are the power behind every project we deliver,” said Lexicon CEO Patrick Schueck. “Catherine’s track record in developing leaders and scaling training in complex, distributed operations will help us deepen our culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement while growing opportunities for our team members.”

In her new role, Brumbaugh will lead enterprise-wide training strategy and delivery, including leadership development, craft upskilling, compliance training and employee engagement initiatives in support of Lexicon’s operational goals. She will collaborate with division leaders to deliver tailored programs that drive performance and support career growth.

“Catherine’s experience aligns perfectly with the needs of our workforce,” said Janell Schmidt, chief human resources officer. “She will expand Lexicon University programming, strengthen leadership pathways and enhance coaching for employees in the field, in our shops and in the office.”

Lexicon University is the company’s internal training and development program, offering structured learning pathways for craft professionals, emerging leaders and seasoned managers. The program integrates technical training, leadership development and continuous improvement courses designed to support long-term career growth and ensure consistent, companywide excellence. As director, Brumbaugh will guide the continued evolution of Lexicon University as a central hub for employee advancement and organizational learning.

Brumbaugh holds a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies life/earth science from the University of the Incarnate Word, a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in education with a focus on training and performance improvement from Capella University.
