Three from Lexicon Recognized by SEAA as “Steel Strong Women in Construction”

Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) honored 25 women across the nation in year two of campaign; Lexicon claims three spots

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 14, 2026) – Arkansas-based Lexicon, Inc. recently had three employees recognized by the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) as “Steel Strong Women in Construction.” This national honor celebrates women across all roles in the industry who are making a meaningful impact.

The Steel Strong Women in Construction program recognizes leaders in four categories: The Trades, The Managers, The Executives and The Owners. The following Lexicon team members were honored for their notable achievements and leadership:

  • Drew Crone, quality control inspector – The Trades
  • Emily Keith, director of analytics – The Executives
  • Janell Schmidt, chief human resources officer – The Executives

Crone was also honored as a 2026 Legacy Builder, which highlights women from each category for their decades of work and the impact they’ve made on the steel construction industry.

“We are so proud of these deserving team members and all they have accomplished,” said Lexicon CEO Patrick Schueck. “Every day, they show outstanding commitment to the industry, the company and those around them. It’s gratifying for the SEAA to recognize the excellence we see every day. Drew, Emily and Janell are hardworking, determined women who make Lexicon a better business.”

All nominees will be recognized during SEAA’s 2026 Convention & Trade Show, which will be held May 5-8, in Kansas City, Mo. Videos of the 2026 Legacy Builders can be viewed on SEAA’s YouTube Channel

“Now in its second year, our Steel Strong Women in Construction campaign saw nearly a 50% increase in nominations, reflecting growing engagement and impact,” said Pete Gum, executive director of SEAA. “The initiative was created to elevate the perspectives of women in our niche of construction and to support the annual Women in Construction Week hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction.”
